Neighborhood Action Program For Youthful Offenders
This new program, funded by the City Community Development Department, provides funding to expand our successful First Offender Model.  The program is housed in the Family Resource Center and engages both participating youth and their families in the resolution of probation issues and the attainment of educational goals.

Multicultural Youth Leadership Program
During the past year, this leadership program served 254 adolescent Latino and African and American males and females, ages 12-17 and provided prevention services to decrease use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco. The development of leadership skills is accomplished through the involvement of youth in community service projects, involvement with other community based organizations, and recreational and educational activities. The youth participated in the City's Day of Dialogue and were hosted by a number of organizations including, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Sparks, A&W Industries, local businesses, Nike, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The importance of community reinvestment was stressed through their "Blunt-out Campaign" where the youth successfully engaged local businesses in removing drug related tobacco products from their primary counters. The program which is funded by the County Department of Alcohol and Drugs was selected for additional County Funding to expand our outreach efforts within area housing projects.  The projects collaborates with community agencies such as South Central Prevention Coalition and middle schools and high schools.
