Congregate meals are provided during the noon hour at six program sites Monday through Friday. The congregate setting ensures that each senior is provided with an opportunity for interaction and that the meal composition provides one-third of the recommended adult daily nutritional requirement. Menus are planned with the assistance of the City's Registered Dietitian and are reviewed by the agency's Nutrition Coordinator and Senior Advisory Council members.

Many of our area seniors are unable to travel to a congregate site. For those seniors, our nutrition service to the homebound provides a hot meal 5 days per week. Our drivers are trained to identify signs of senior abuse and to report changes in client conditions which may support the need for additional in-home services. Working closely with the case manager and local hospital discharge planners, our Nutrition Coordinator ensures seniors are promptly processed for homebound service. This program provides over 60,000 meals last year which represented a nutritional lifeline to the frail elderly and recuperating seniors of the Southwestern area.
